BIS certification

Quality Control Order making conformity with the relevant Indian Standard mandatory, on grounds such as public interest, protection of human, animal or plant health, environmental safety, prevention of unfair trade practices or national security. For goods under such an order, the government directs mandatory use of the Standard Mark, held under a licence or a Certificate of Conformity from the Bureau. The products concerned are organised into four schemes: Scheme I, the ISI Mark scheme, Scheme II, the Registration Scheme, Scheme IV, Certificate of Conformity, and Scheme X. The cited page indexes those product lists rather than reproducing them, so whether a given machine is covered must be read from the applicable order.
