arriving vehicle, and risk passes at that moment. The seller arranges and pays for carriage and for every customs formality — export, transit and, decisively, import clearance — while the buyer's only obligation is to unload, bearing the risk and usually the cost of doing so. That import clearance is the whole difference from DAP, where the buyer clears. It also carries the trap: some import authorities require the local importer to clear the goods, and where that applies DDP cannot be used and DAP is the fitting rule.
