Registration rests either on a Certificate of Conformity from a designated third-party conformity assessment body or on a supplier's declaration of conformity made by a registered supplier, who must itself be registered before supplying; once a model is registered it may be advertised and supplied. The mark identifies registered goods on the product or its packaging and carries a unique eight-digit registration number traceable to the registrant and the registered models. Selling unregistered Controlled Goods carries a fine of up to ten thousand Singapore dollars, up to two years' imprisonment, or both.
